Transcend Team Coaching is dedicated to professional excellence in team coaching education and practice.

Professor David Clutterbuck, Transcend Team Coaching partner and globally recognised thought leader in the world of Team Coaching, and Peter Hawkins have estimated that the world will need an additional 150,000 team coaches to satisfy demand over the next 3-5 years. This was based on a series of interviews and research with a large sample of global client organisations and their forecast of focus on team and intended investments in team development. 


Team coaching is an eclectic field that integrates aspects of other disciplines and theories including systems thinking, behavioural science, psychology, psycho-dynamic analysis, systems theory, organisation behaviour, and organisational culture. It could be described as Organisational Development fuelled by coaching skills with a strong systemic approach. Research suggests that while team coaching currently represents 9% of overall coaching delivered, it is this kind of coaching that is predicted to grow the most over the coming two years. While one-to-one coaching can be a very powerful way of improving an individuals’ performance, team coaching offers more collective benefits with extremely positive effects across the entire organisation.

This programme, facilitated by Transcend’s Head of Team Coaching, GTCI Head of CASP Programme, Core Faculty Member, Craig McKenzie, and Transcend Group CEO, Tony Dickel. From One on One to Team Coach

This programme is aimed at experienced individual coaches and team coaches with a solid foundation of experience and expertise in one-to-one coaching, who want to add team coaching to their portfolio.  Some less experienced coaches may have a meaningful experience in working as a team leader, team leadership, or working with teams as a consultant, trainer, or facilitator. Please speak with us if you are interested and not sure if you qualify.  

This programme will enable one-to-one coaches to develop themselves as team coaches or enhance their ability to work with team leaders.  It aims to ensure they are competent and confident in extending coaching approaches to helping teams become more effective and eventually develop the capability to coach themselves. The context of the programme is organisational teams, with particular emphasis on executive teams and project teams, although the tools, techniques, and theory also apply to other teams.

Craig McKenzie,
Head of Transcend Team Coaching

Craig is at the leading edge of team coaching through his deep involvement in training, practice, research and product development. Craig has extensive international experience designing and delivering ICF and EMCC credentialed coach training programmes ( 1-2-1 and team coaching).  

In addition to his roles as Director and Head of Team Coaching and Global Development with Transcend International. He is Head of the Complex Adaptive Systems PERILL (CASP) stream with the Global Team Coaching Institute (GTCI) Working closely with Professor David Clutterbuck and the CMI global leadership, he delivers all levels of Team Coach training. He holds ICF and EMCC accreditations as a coach, team coach, and supervisor.  He has over 30 years of experience in developing teams, leadership teams, and boards in corporate and NGO contexts.

The Global Accreditation Journey

This is an exciting time for team coaching globally. Both the EMCC and the ICF have presented Team Coaching Competencies. The EMCC has created global standards and an accreditation pathway for team coaches and for team coach training programmes.  The Global Team Coaching Institute, in partnership with David Clutterbuck and Peter Hawkins, was created and launched in 2019 with a focus on online team coach training. Organisations will be on the lookout for professionally trained and accredited team coaches.  The ICF has not yet announced plans for specific accreditation for Team Coaching programmes or coaches, though we anticipate this will come in the future.  Your opportunity now is with the EMCC to receive your Individual Team Coaching Accreditation at the Practitioner level.

Globally Accredited: This programme is approved for 40.5 CCE’s from the ICF.  Team coaches who work with clients are also eligible to complete additional assignments and assessments to achieve the ITCA Practitioner level from the EMCC. (Additional nominal costs will apply but the total fee will be less than doing it directly through the EMCC)
