Michelle is currently a director and Head of Chinese program of Transcend International, an ICF ACTP and EMCC EQA provider, a coaching and leadership development firm. Michelle also holds the position as a Co-Country Director, China, and HK for Potential Project – the leading global mindfulness-based corporate training organization. Michelle becomes the faculty member of global team coaching institute in 2020.
Michelle started her career as an engineer in high tech industry and became a regional engineering director, winning, at the age of 26, the “Hong Kong Governor’s Industrial Invention Award”. Michelle’s second ten-year career was with an award-winning global consulting and talent management firm. She became their senior partner, regional head of industrial practice and the Managing Director of the HK office. Michelle had been top 3 consultant in Asia Pacific (among 24 offices in 12 countries) 8 years during her 10 years service. She also built up and led the fastest growth and the most profitable business unit in the firm by the time she left in 2012.
For the third ten-years of her career, Michelle has devoted herself to developing people. As one of the top executive coaches in the region, Michelle had heavily involved supporting her clients’ leadership team and organizational development. As a highly certified mindfulness teacher, she is able to integrate mindfulness into her coaching and facilitation work where appropriate, coaching with exceptional presence.
Michelle speaks fluent English, Mandarin and Cantonese. She has lived in China, Burma, US, UK, Japan before she rejoined her family in Hong Kong in the late of 1990s. Michelle has a passionate interest in coaching, mindfulness based approaches and in mathematics. She also enjoys hiking, reading, cooking and studying philosophy.
Michelle earned her BSc from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications at the age of 20 and her MSc from Virgina Tech in US. She is a qualified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Teacher from University of Massachusetts Medical Centre and is studying her masters degree in Psychology. She is a certified practitioner on Genos Emotional Intelligence tool, Hogan, Insights, DiSC, MBTI, WorkplaceBig5, Firo-B, True color and other psychometric assessment instruments.
